In 1998, this committee published Employing Parish Catechetical Leaders: A Practical Handbook, as a resource tool for parishes.The retail price of this book is $9.95. However, this handbook is currently being revised, so the 1998 book can be purchased at the close-out price of $5.00 each plus postage by contacting Joanie McKeown, joanie50@consultant.com.

Awards Committee

WDREF offers two awards at each biennial convention or event.

Through the Stephen C. Gilmour Award for Leadership in Ministry, WDREF recognizes outstanding contributions by Federation members. This award is >granted to a degreed professional person actively engaged in parish catechetical ministry on a directorship level. The person should be outstanding for her/his leadership and achievements in the catechetical field and must be a member of the Federation through one of the following: ProCLAYM, DARE, MAREDA, MDREO, SUMMIT.  

The Stephen C. Gilmour Award Application will be available on line in 2008.

Through the Henriette M. Mackin Award for Support in Ministry, WDREF recognizes outstanding volunteer or support personnel contributions. This award is granted to an individual who has given outstanding support to catechetical ministry within the state of Wisconsin. It is open to both paid and volunteer people in a parish or diocese. Examples: a catechist, secretary, parent, liturgist, janitor, etc. (Diocesan personnel are not eligible.)
